Les Six Flute Ensemble have made it through to the final of the Flutewise/ABRSM competition final in the School Age Category.
To say I am thrilled, would be a massive understatement. The six of them are great flute players and together make up a really impressive sounding ensemble. They have worked hard on the set pieces and hope on the day they can put together a solid performance and show what they are capable of.
It will be quite daunting for the younger members of the group, playing to a room full of flute players and also being adjudicated by the composer of one of the pieces, but I am confident that they will rise to the challenge and do the best they can. Whatever the result, I am immensely proud of the effort and commitment they have all shown to the ensemble.
We are all looking forward to the final which takes place in London at the John McIntosh Arts Centre on 16th July.
